Oakley House

A Chicago family home reimagined with bold color and sculptural intention. A recently built residence in Bucktown was transformed into a space that reflects the vibrant energy of the young family living within it.

The project centered on strategic architectural updates and deliberate material choices. The living room fireplace became a focal point, pairing blackened steel and three dimensional tile for tactile depth. The primary bath and powder room received complete renovations, lighting was replaced throughout, and the stair balustrade connecting four floors was reconceived.

Color became the medium for storytelling. Rather than restraint, vibrancy defines each room's personality while maintaining cohesion through sculptural forms and carefully assembled furnishings. What emerged is a home designed for the reality of young children and dinner parties in equal measure.
