Los Feliz Contemporary

In Los Feliz, a verdant east side enclave nestled in the Hollywood Hills, sits a luminous, gallery like home for longtime clients and avid art collectors. From Spanish Revival to California contemporary, this project honors the home's roots while embracing a distinctly modern sensibility. Interior architecture was stripped to the studs and reimagined as a vessel for living amongst a vibrant collection of contemporary art and collectible design.

Embracing California's golden light, plaster softens every surface, and rooms flow together in an elegant enfilade. The Spanish Revival vocabulary distills to its essence with arched contours, fluted plaster, and rhythmic texture. Color appears deliberately. Moody aubergine wraps the powder room, mossy green caps the library ceiling, upstairs spaces layer light olive, slate blue, and terracotta.

Custom metalwork punctuates the material palette. The breakfast nook curves gracefully, and doors fold open to frame the hills. A light filled sanctuary where architecture, art, and design flow seamlessly together.
