Harbor Country Beach House

Perched atop grassy sand dunes overlooking Lake Michigan, a dated farmhouse style retreat undergoes a complete transformation. What began as cramped, disconnected spaces suited only for summer weekends evolved into a year round residence that honors its spectacular setting.

The kitchen anchors the renovation, reimagined as a gracious hub for entertaining. Cerused oak millwork meets moody slate blue cabinetry, while striated Luce di Luna quartzite captures the palette of surrounding dunes and water. Architecture dictated the transformation of the great room. Once fragmented into three separate spaces, the volume now rises uninterrupted, flooded with light from new skylights and windows flanking the fireplace. Clean lined furnishings in neutral tones ground the sun drenched interior. Upstairs, bedrooms depart from the main floor's cool blues, embracing soft blush, terracotta, and warm white that echo the shifting colors of lakeside sunsets.

The result is a home that balances restraint with the ease of coastal living, a sanctuary equally suited to quiet contemplation and elegant gathering.
